The Consortium for Energy Efficiency develops and supports U.S. and Canadian initiatives to accelerate market adoption of advanced energy-efficient products and services. Members of the Consortium include utilities, statewide and regional market transformation administrators, environmental groups, research organizations and state energy offices in the United States and Canada. Members serve more than one half of the U.S. and one third of the Canadian populations, and expend more than $2 billion annually on efficiency programs.
CEE is seeking an enthusiastic individual to support its industrial energy efficiency program initiatives and to assist in the development of emerging initiatives. The individual will be part of a four-person team and report to CEE's Senior Industrial Program Manager.
The successful candidate will assist CEE members in researching opportunities to improve the effectiveness of industrial energy efficiency programs. The candidate will support CEE committee efforts to evaluate common industrial technologies, processes and systems in order to identify energy-saving opportunities of common interest and benefit to CEE members. The candidate will also assist in the development of committee recommendations for consideration by CEE's Board of Directors.
The candidate will support CEE committee meetings as well as meetings with government, advocate, and other stakeholder groups to develop, discuss, and evaluate energy efficiency program opportunities. In general, these support activities may include convening meetings and conference calls, generating meeting notes, conducting research, writing white papers, making presentations, polling CEE members on various issues, and facilitating meetings.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate superior research and communication skills as well as an understanding of the consensus-building process. The candidate should also have a demonstrated interest in: 1) energy-efficiency, 2) technical, financial and environmental policy issues related to industrial companies, 3) business and marketing strategies for energy-efficient products and services.
Typical job responsibilities support these areas:
1. Conduct directed secondary research on energy-efficient products and services applicable to the industrial sector, including assessments of current market conditions, energy savings opportunities, emerging technologies and recommended strategies for affecting national markets.
2. Analyze how research findings may impact CEE activities. Consider how to integrate the new information to more fully meet organizational objectives.
3. Support consensus building among CEE members and other industry and government stakeholders on approaches to accelerate market acceptance of energy-efficient products and services.
4. Summarize findings in white papers and memos, as well as in presentations to staff and CEE members.
5. Actively contribute to and/or facilitate committee discussions on research findings. 6. Help communicate consensus positions internally (among committee members) and externally via the media and project materials.
7. Represent CEE in public settings.
The ideal applicant will have the following:
* A graduate degree or equivalent (e.g., BA/BS including graduate coursework, honors thesis or significant applicable employment experience).
* 2-3 years of work experience in a professional work environment.
* Superior oral and written communication skills.

* Ability to manage workload across multiple projects.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
