Position Overview:

The Program Associate, Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves (Alliance) is responsible for working with the Executive Director (ED) and the entire Alliance team and supporting them in the development and implementation of Alliance initiatives as well as supporting the administrative needs of the Alliance.

Working Relationships: The Program Associate will work closely with Alliance staff, other UN Foundation staff and will the support the needs of Alliance stakeholders. The Program Associate will report directly to the Senior Director, Strategic Partnerships and work closely with the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

The Program Associate, Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, is responsible for providing administrative, logistical, and research support to the team. Duties include:

  • Maintain and update contact lists and databases for the Alliance. Work closely with Public Affairs to ensure they have complete lists to distribute newsletters and other materials.
  • Enter meeting notes and other program details in partner tracking database.
  • Assist with the organization of team wide and Alliance related conferences, workshops and events, in collaboration with the Operations Manager and in close coordination with the UNF Special Events Team. Takes notes and meeting minutes as needed.
  • Maintains and updates Alliance calendar of events and monitors other organizations for pertinent events and meetings.
  • Maintains Alliance partner files and database.
  • Provide logistical support for partner, board, and working group meetings.
  • Assist with briefing notes, memos, and board book preparations as directed.
  • Conduct research as needed for program and markets colleagues. This is likely to be about 20% of the responsibilities.
  • Prepare, finalize, and distribute internal and external correspondence as directed.
  • Develop and track quarterly and monthly deliverables, and weekly objectives, by project and staff.
  • Assist with the editing of reports and other mailings.
  • Perform other duties and/or tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 2 to 3 years' professional office experience required.
  • High degree of professionalism, along with excellent research, verbal and written skills.
  • Personal commitment to Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves and UNF's vision and the ability to articulate those to others in a convincing manner.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative while working in a team.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with team and UNF staff.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with people from a wide variety of organizations and cultural backgrounds, with a wide variety of functional expertise, in a demanding and fluid work environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge a plus.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience. Actual salary will depend on qualifications and anticipated contribution to the Foundation.

UNF pays 100% of medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance premiums for its employees and 75% of medical and vision for employees' dependents.
