The Redford Center is the newest of the Sundance Entities. It is a non-profit whose mission is to inspire positive social change through the arts, education and civil discourse. The Redford Center will bring together artists, prominent leaders, thinkers and policymakers in a variety of programs to create innovative, solution-based paradigms for a more sustainable future. The Center is headquartered in Berkeley with programmatic offerings in the SF Bay Area and at the Sundance Resort in Utah.
Position Overview:
The Redford Center is seeking a highly organized, motivated, and energetic Program Assistant to support the Program Director. The position will be part-time, 15-20 hours/week through the end of June 2010. Hours will then increase to 25-30 hours/week from July through October and report to the Executive Director during the Program Director's maternity leave.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the implementation of all Redford Center programs and events
- Handle event and program logistics (i.e. making travel arrangements, managing ticket sales and registration, getting supplies, producing materials, assembling packets, distributing information, etc.)
- Liaise with event and program partners, vendors, and participants
- Assist with budget management
- Assist with the creation and distribution of communications
- Assist with program and event outreach, marketing and participant recruitment
- Undertake and complete research assignments (re: materials, supplies, individuals, groups, competitive programs, etc.)
- Respond to program and event inquiries
- Assist with the management of online program and event resources
- Assist with program and event follow up, documentation and evaluation
- Work with the Executive Director and Program Director in a variety of other administrative areas as needed for a start up endeavor
- Willingness to travel
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years relevant work experience
- Proven ability to coordinate programs and events
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex tasks
- Excellent time management and interpersonal communication skills
- Capacity to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Experience working under tight deadlines and shifting priorities
- Problem solving skills with a track record of demonstrating sound judgment by taking initiative and making appropriate decisions
- Proclivity to thrive in a fast paced, start up, work environment
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs and PC environments
- Knowledge of Adobe applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) a plus
- Passion for the mission of the Redford Center
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
