Description

EcoVentures International (EVI) supports the promotion of sustainable communities and sustainable livelihoods through environmental and social-oriented business creation. Our mission is to train, mentor, connect and inspire youth worldwide to develop as environmental entrepreneurs.

We achieve this through our: 

- Environmental Enterprise Training Program: Running Training Programs for youth (guiding youth through discovering environmental challenges and finding appropriate business solutions)
- Training-of-Trainers Program: Running Capacity Building Programs for teachers, trainers and youth workers.
- Enabling Environment: Working with funders, program managers, and government to assist in developing an Enabling Environment for the development of the Environmental Entrepreneurship & Microenterprise Development sector.
- EcoPreneurs Network: Setting up and managing a Network for environmental entrepreneurs. 

EcoVentures International offers internships year round. We look for individuals who are motivated and excited about supporting the development of innovative and effective ways to foster sustainable change in the world. Working with EVI will provide an opportunity to experience first-hand the process of establishing and growing an organization working in the international development field. Interns will be involved in the daily operations as well as the implementation of our larger strategic direction. 

The Program and Development Intern's responsibilities will include researching and writing for our newsletter, website and other educational and promotional materials; assisting in development activities including donor tracking and proposal preparation; coordinating brown bags, happy hours, workshops and other informational and fundraising events; providing general administrative support including drafting letters, coordinating mailings, maintaining program files and contact databases; and assisting with other projects on an as needed basis. 

Skills: 

- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Organized, with attention to detail and accuracy
- High computer proficiency, including database experience
- Initiative, enthusiasm, and drive
- Ability to work effectively, both independently and on a team 

Commitment: 

A minimum of 20 hrs weekly commitment for 3 to 6 months. Start date: Late August / Early September
