Description

Xunlight Corporation, a technology spin-off from the University of Toledo, engages in the development, manufacture, and marketing of photovoltaic modules that convert sunlight into electricity. The company develops thin-film silicon based photovoltaic products and manufacturing equipment for high throughput production of flexible and lightweight photovoltaic modules at low cost.

Position Overview:

This position will be responsible for providing engineering support for a range of products through all phases of product development and manufacturing. The job requires close coordination with all the key functions of the company - sales, quality, manufacturing and technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage new product introduction schedule and activities, and product issues throughout the product life cycle.
  • Work directly with certification agencies to obtain and maintain product certifications.
  • Create and maintain customer-related product documentation trade literature and marketing papers.
  • Act as a contact for internal and external customer inquiries on product issues.
  • Work closely with test and process engineers during development and production release on failure analysis, reliability qualification and yield enhancement.
  • Work with material and assembly vendors to improve module packages and assembly processes.

Qualifications:

  • BS+ in engineering discipline with 2+ years of product engineering experience in photovoltaics or closely related industry required
  • Understanding of technical and non-technical aspects of PV products, including compliance requirements.
  • Solid understanding of diagnostic, product test, failure analysis, and debug techniques.
  • Self starter with strong leadership, communication skills and demonstrated problem solving ability and demonstrated interdisciplinary team work skills.
  • Knowledge of Solidworks or similar software a plus.
  • Ability to climb ladders, lift and transport 50 lbs, visual acuity and manual dexterity sufficient to perform precision work with small parts. Some travel required.
