Position Overview:
The Global Consulting Services group is charged with corporate and policy consulting, and internal strategic support. Consulting staff carry out client and topic-driven research and consulting, internal projects and research as requested, and internal and external intelligence gathering and dissemination.
The successful applicant will participate in consulting projects and their implementation, support business development activities, and contribute to internally strategic initiatives. This position is also likely to involve analysis in policy, legal, and regulatory arenas and produces. Must have advanced organizational skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Marketing of consultancy products and services, including proposal writing.
- Extensive client contact and contract/project oversight.
- Implementation of client-driven projects, research and analysis. Drafting, revise, finalize, and present work products. Ensure quality control of work products.
- Mentoring and working with less senior staff to advance skill sets and performance.
- Contribute to overall advancement of the consulting group through conferences, publications, compliance with group administrative systems and needs.
Key Results Areas:
Subject areas encompass corporate risk management, domestic and international climate change policies and measures, market analysis and forecasting, emissions trading, the Clean Development Mechanism, and related area.
Consultants have line responsibility for a variety of projects and need to have the personal flexibility to work on several projects simultaneously. Senior consultants must be able to take more direct management responsibilities for their projects. Domestic and international travel required.
Communication and Working Relationships:
The consulting group is headquartered in the U.S. with offices or staff in several places around the world. Staff in all offices need to communicate and work effectively with staff in other offices, including in very different time zones. Consultants may report to line managers in another office.
Candidates willing to work at our Oxford, England Office will also be considered.
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in relevant field and 5+ years relevant experience.
- Experience with climate change policy and mitigation, energy policy, or emissions trading.
- Experience in selling and managing consultative products and services.
- Experience with staff and business management.
- Superior communications and writing skills, including public speaking.
- Strong analytical/quantitative skills and advanced computer literacy.
- Demonstrated initiative taking, and project and staff management abilities.
