Description
Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a national nonprofit organization, is seeking to fill the director of outreach in the policy department.
Responsibilities:
- Spearheading a large coalition effort across health, business and other backgrounds;
- Maintaining and expand a growing network of partners advocating for trails, walking and bicycling;
- Managing a web-based advocacy network of individual and grasstops activists;
- Developing agendas and participate in forums and strategy sessions;
- and more.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and at least 5 to 7 years relevant work experience. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential. The ideal applicant will be experienced in grassroots and grasstops organizing as well as policy analysis.
Knowledge of transportation and/or health policy, as well as local governments, is desired. Master's degree in public health, urban planning or other related discipline preferred.
Familiarity with Convio Luminate software a plus. Some work travel is expected.
