Overview:

Meet target volumes of quality biodiesel production while maintaining the facility. The Plant Operator works ‘hand-on’ to oversee maintenance and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and components found on company propertyMeet target volumes of quality biodiesel production while maintaining the facility and effectively communicating status and support needs to the management team.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prioritize and communicate daily/weekly activities.
  • Assist with Shipping & Receiving to manage the storage of raw material into the facility.
  • Process the material into finished biodiesel adhering to a set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Perform quality control measures.
  • Document quality control sample tests for chemical and physical characteristics; daily updates on plant activity and material in storage and in process; and individual reporting of batch timing, characteristics and formulations to the management team.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Team Manager to identify and address immediately potential issues that may affect production.
  • Operate and maintain transfer pumps, valves, forklift truck to load and unload various material used in the plant.
  • Perform maintenance and/or general housekeeping of the equipment including and work areas plus general labor duties.
  • Perform miscellaneous modifications and/or repairs to process related equipment.
  • Check the boiler operation, perform shift inspections, and record the results.
  • Regularly use chemical additives to avoid calcification, clogging, and general degradation of boilers and coolers.
  • Understand ‘24/7 production schedule’ – work with management to deploy planned downtime-maintenance in a manner that is safe, productive, and as undisruptive as possible.
  • Ensure that you are up-to-date with safety protocols, certificates, and classes that BIB provides; work closely with the BIB Safety Team on managing classes etc.

Compensation & Location

Pay:

  • $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 12 hour shift
  • Night shift
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Kea‘au, HI 96749: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
