Position Overview: 

Common Agenda has been retained to conduct a search for an experienced Energy PhD to start a Sustainable Energy research program with a particular focus on applying information technology and science to energy issues. This position, reporting to the President of the lab, will lead the definition of a research agenda that leverages existing competencies across the lab and new competencies to be added. The individual will be responsible for recruiting a research team and directing the execution of the agenda to achieve the dual objectives of research excellence and impact on business.

Qualifications:

  • Education level required: PhD in EE/ECE/CS. Physical Sciences candidates with extensive research experience in the areas below will also be considered.
  • Candidate must have 10 or more years of progressive experience in bottom up research (including, at a minimum, the last 3 years in Sustainable Energy) with a distinguished publication record.
  • Candidate must be well recognized contributor in the Energy research community (involving Smart Grids/Micro Grids, Energy Storage Systems, Renewable Energy, Energy Management, etc... ). Knows the energy ecosystem.
  • Must have strong written and verbal English communication and interpersonal skills as well as the proven ability to recruit and motivate a highly talented research staff.
  • Able to relocate to Cupertino, California. Frequent travel to NJ is expected to collaborate with other research groups based there.
