The Student Conservation Association (SCA) is America's conservation corps. Our members protect and restore national parks, marine sanctuaries, cultural landmarks and community green spaces in all 50 states. ~ 

Position Overview

The Partnership Director has responsibility for executing SCA's national and regional business strategies in SCA's Midwest region, including building and retaining SCA programs. 

Responsibilities  

  • This position is responsible for growth of SCA's urban-based community conservation programs in Chicago, Milwaukee and Detroit;
  • Supports efforts to secure philanthropic and corporate giving;
  • Represents SCA at public events;
  • Engages with key SCA constituencies;
  • Supports SCA regional staff; and
  • Drives SCA's presence and impact in Chicago and the region.

Qualifications 

Experience and Skills:  

  • Bachelor's degree plus significant additional coursework, seminars or similar activities.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience including coordinating mission-critical, customer focused activities, a history of business development success, experience in leading teams towards goals, and in representing organizations to external audiences.
  • Experience in the field of conservation and/or working with government agencies.
  • Strong understanding of solution and consultative sales practices - must be a closer and show evidence of past success in this area.
  • Understanding of and experience using database systems; Salesforce CRM system preferred.
  • Strength in managing, planning, budgeting, fund raising, marketing, sales, and communications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including both the ability to work closely with a broad range of staff, including executive level, and with customers.
  • Competence in using Microsoft Office software. Strong experience in using electronic communication tools.
  • Ability/willingness to travel &ndash: at least 33% of position requires regional travel.
  • Valid driver's license and motor vehicle record that meets SCA's standards.
