Position Overview: 

We’re seeking a creative, passionate, hard working, funny, curious, independent intern to work with us in the following areas:

• Marketing and communications, including drafting blog posts, media outreach, and maybe helping us create a video
• Web design and other crafty/creative projects
• Social impact tracking

Ideally, we would find someone interested in working about 10-15 hours a week, starting ASAP and going through the end of the year. Someone based in the Bay Area is preferred, but most of the work can be done remotely.

The position will pay a modest hourly rate or monthly stipend and will be an awesome learning and professional development opportunity. There will definitely be opportunities to take on more responsibility and possibly transition into a full-time role if there is a good fit. We’re calling this an internship for now – but once we find the right person, we’ll let you pick your own title (within reason)!  

Qualifications: 

Qualities of a desirable candidate include:

• Top-notch communications skills – writing, storytelling, interpersonal.
• Basic web design skills. Don’t need to be a professional designer – but if you know how to use Photoshop and are comfortable with design in general, that would be a big plus.
• Video creation skills – not a requirement, but also would be a plus.
• You crave learning new things and ask a lot of questions.
• International experience and an interest in market-driven solutions to international development.
• Passionate about solving 2 of the world’s biggest challenges – energy poverty and global warming.
• Self-starter comfortable working independently in a sometimes uncertain environment.
• Excited about working with a small, early stage, bootstrapping start-up.
• You think solar energy is awesome!
