Position Overview: 

The Outreach Coordinator (Coordinator) is a resourceful, detail-oriented individual who provides support for all public outreach including promotion, direct marketing, member and volunteer solicitations, donor data management, and membership recruitment and cultivation events. The Coordinator also supports fundraising efforts, including administrative duties related to proposal preparation.

The Coordinator assists with developing strategic and creative ways to enhance the brand, visibility, and reach of the organization. The Coordinator maintains the constituent database; produces acknowledgements, queries, and reports; coordinates and executes direct mail appeals and other Foundation mailings; assists with developing content and designing electronic communications such as enewsletters; helps to administer evaluation programs and collects data for analysis; posts events to online calendars; contributes to social media content; catalogs photographs and press clippings; and provides general administrative support as needed.

Compensation: This is a competitive internship position. The successful candidate will be supervised by a designated mentor who will give counsel and professional guidance to the intern. The intern's responsibilities will allow him/her to participate in a valuable and creative way toward advancing the Accokeek Foundation's mission. The projects will challenge the intern creatively and strategically, and this internship will provide him/her with the opportunity to gain a new perspective. The intern will be given a hands-on learning environment where he/she can interact with staff and Foundation stakeholders on a regular basis.

The internship will run from approximately April 1 to September 30. The commitment will be to work on site at the Accokeek Foundation for 32 hours per week, with flexible hours, some evenings and weekends required.
