Outreach and Policy Coordinator

Gathering Waters Conservancy, a statewide, non-profit conservation organization based in Madison, Wisconsin, seeks an Outreach and Policy Coordinator.

Gathering Waters Conservancy is a service center and coalition of Wisconsin' s 55 land trusts.

GWC builds awareness and support for land trusts and land conservation through public policy advocacy, education and outreach.

 Duties

• work with Board and staff to develop annual and long-term communications and outreach plans; 
• edit and oversee production and distribution of annual reports, quarterly newsletters, brochures, announcements and other outreach materials; 
• organize and coordinate all aspects of Annual Awards Celebration and other outreach and fundraising events; 
• identify and cultivate media contacts, write and issue press releases, and prepare feature articles for magazines and other publications; 
• oversee website, design electronic presentations and prepare other multi-media materials to support programs, 
• fundraising and outreach efforts; 
• prepare written testimony, position statements, and other communications on legislative and policy issues; 
• coordinate and support Land Trust Policy Network a coalition of over 40 land trust activists; 
• draft and circulate policy updates and action alerts; 
• respond to citizen requests for general information; 
• prepare, track and manage grants supporting Gathering Waters Conservancy' s policy and outreach programs; 
• assist with other tasks as assigned. 
                

Terms:
This is a full-time position.

Salary range: $30,000 to $36,000; health, retirement and other benefits.
