LEAF Certifications, a third-party certification and eco-labeling system for the US apparel industry is seeking organic certifiers as pre-launch consultants for this organization, with the potential to form long-term partnerships as lead certifiers for the organization.
The organization has officially adopted the GOTS standards as the 'golden standard' companies can aspire to for this eco-labeling service, and will be working with GOTS certifiers for this level of certification.
In addition to the GOTS standard, an intermediate 'Sustanable End Product' certification is being facilitated this summer that will focus on a company's use of sustainble source fibers and man-made materials. Since this intermediate standard is a new verification being created this summer, certifiers are also needed to help consult how the 'Sustainable End Product' qualification will be certifed, especially with alternative fibers such as hemp, bamboo, recycled materials, etc.
