Beyond Green is an expanding food service consulting firm specialized in sustainability located in Chicago, IL. We work with organizations (schools, cultural institutions, hospitals, restaurants, and food service companies) which are proactively seeking cost-effective sustainable food service strategies. Beyond Green was formerly established under the name of Greg Christian Consulting, which was founded in January of 2009.
Some of our clients are Niles Township School District 219 (Skokie, IL), Bureau Valley School District 340 (Manlius, IL), The Field Museum and Heartland Café (Chicago, IL).
Position Overview:
Beyond Green is looking for an operations manager/project manager who is interested in applying his/her skills in an innovative practical setting while helping the company to grow.
The Operations Manager/Project Manager will be responsible for the company's operations, as well as the strategic development of programming, management of staff, and overseeing evaluations of all projects.

Responsibilities:
In detail, the Operations Manager/Project Manager will be responsible for:
Business development
Products and processes:
- Edit company's operational processes as drafted by on-site independent chef contractors
- Assist CEO in developing and evaluating products and processes
- Coordinate organization of company's documents and files
- Potential clients
- Keep potential clients database
- Meet with CEO and potential clients
- Participate in conferences and webinars to learn and network
Project Management:
- Assist independent chef contractors with their work in relation to sustainable kitchen operations
- Make sure all is deliverables are of optimal quality and deadlines are met
- Assist staff in preparation of project reports for meetings with clients
- Meet with clients to present on-going findings, new ideas and final reports
- Keep records of projects' files
- Management of staff and independent chef contractors
- Organize their work load, provide deliverable requirements, schedule deadlines
- Organize their calendar
- Review their deliverables, provide support when needed
- Hold weekly meetings
Communication:
- Contribute to company's blog, Twitter
- Network on LinkedIn with potential clients and collaborators
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate would:
- Hold a B.A. degree along with a combination of professional and life experience that will enable the candidate to lead the growth and continued success of Beyond Green
- Have a comprehensive understanding in the fields of environmental awareness, sustainability, food systems, and agriculture
- Have experience in project management and team-work
- Demonstrate interest in the company's mission and share its growth vision
- Be able to multi-task, prioritize tasks, meet goals and deadlines
- Pay attention to details as well as to a project a whole
- Be proactive and solution-oriented

Compensation: 15$/hour to start. 24 hours a week.
