Gaia Development is a green building and sustainability consultant firm specializing in LEED consulting, energy modeling, and building commissioning.
Position Overview:
Gaia is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the organizations business operations and accounting, as well as playing a key role in strategic business development and marketing programming. The Operations Manager reports to the Principal.
Responsibilities:
Operations and Management
- Oversee accounting, utilizing Quick Books Pro and/or archiOffice. This includes payables, receivables, account reconciliation, and reporting. Works closely with outside accounting firm and Office Manager/Bookkeeper regarding accounting coordination.
- Assist Principal to prepare and manage client proposals and consultant contracts.
- Provide customer service support to client accounts.
- Manage and maintain personnel records, insurance, human resources, payroll and benefits.
- Communicate with legal advisors on all internal and external matters.
Business Development and Marketing
- Collaborate with Principal in developing marketing and business plan.
- Assist Principal in executing business development plan - identifying and tracking new leads, investor capital, and ancillary opportunities.
- Assist Principal in identifying outreach activities, including conferences, workshops, and opportunities for promotion.
- Create and distribute company newsletter on a regular basis.
- Maintain company website and track SEO campaign.
- Oversee all social media campaigns (i.e. content of Facebook and Twitter).
Other associated responsibilities as may be directed from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience, including accounting and management duties.
- Comprehensive experience, understanding of and/or interest in the fields of environmental awareness, real estate and sustainable development.
- Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree preferred.
- LEED Green Associate or Accredited Professional preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Proficiency with Quick Books Pro.
- Experience using archiOffice and/or Microsoft Project a plus.
- Enthusiastic, honest, personable, positive attitude, punctuality, and accuracy.
Business hours are 9:00 am through 6:00 pm Monday through Friday.
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience and qualification, includes health benefits and potential for annual bonus.
