Founded in 1891, UC Berkeley Extension is the continuing education branch of the University of California, Berkeley. Today, Extension offers 1,500 courses each year, including online courses, along with more than 30 certificate and professional programs. Free and low-cost public programs are also frequently offered as a community service.
Position Overview:

UC Berkeley Extension needs subject matter experts to work with our staff of Instructional Designers to create, develop, and instruct individual courses, as well as multi-course certificates, in the following areas:
Specialties (including both Science and Business aspects)
- Sustainability
- Green Chemistry
- Frontier Sciences
Responsibilities:
Developing a course includes creating the discussion questions, assessments, assignments and the course commentary, which may be in the form of written text or as PowerPoint presentations with your recorded voice-over.
Qualifications:
You should have a master's degree in the appropriate field of study (and a PhD if you intend to teach an academic-level course numbered X1-X99), significant professional working experience in the specialty area, and teaching experience (online teaching experience preferred). Appointments are by agreement for the length of the academic term, or on a yearly basis for instruction of self-paced courses.
Compensation: Salary is on a per-student basis.
