Description

Background:

Sustain is seeking two project officers to work on its highly successful food
poverty project, supported by the Community Fund. The project aims to work
with all sectors to reduce food poverty in the UK. We are seeking a Food
Poverty Network Coordinator with experience of the community sector and
sound administrative skills to run the Network, maintain a database of community
food
projects, organise seminars, and produce regular newsletters.

Duties:

  • The Food Poverty Policy Officer will work alongside the Co-ordinator,
    on policy development work;
  • promoting the project (including media work and
    presentations);
  • project management (including budgeting and fundraising);
  • and
    servicing a committee, and overseeing Sustain's pioneering Community Mapping
    Project.

Qualifications:

Some experience of participatory appraisal methods would be an advantage. Both posts are funded
for one year.

The Coordinator will be employed for 4 days per week and the
Policy Officer will be full time, with both salaries in the region of 23,000 pro
rata.
