Position Overview
The Natural Resources Program Coordinator (NRPC) oversees the implementation of the Natural Resources Crew Program including crew coordination and support, quality control, interface with sponsors, coverage, hiring, discipline, tracking, safety and training.
The NRPC must be flexible and organized to coordinate the work of five to seven crews working in areas ranging from construction to restoration to recycling. The NRPC works closely with the Natural Resource Manager to ensure safety; training and quality follow best practices and are up to date across all sites and projects.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Oversee the training program for field staff and corpsmembers; direct sawyer training program, train corpsmember leaders, lead new corpsmember orientation and oversee training records.
- Oversee the program's safety program and incident reporting in conjunction with the Human Resources Department.
- Meet on a regular basis with project sponsors to ensure the completion of project deliverables.
- Provide daily logistics support for all field crews; including vehicle and equipment delivery, materials purchasing and crew transportation as needed.
- Provide primary short and long-term natural resources crew coverage, as needed, to include all duties and responsibilities of a crew supervisor.
- Insure CCNB Policies and disciplinary procedures are implemented in conjunction with the Human Resources Department including assisting supervisors with disciplinary actions and investigations.
- Take daily attendance, reconcile with daily hours tracker.
- Regularly evaluate all Natural Resource Supervisors; oversee advancement.
- Work with HR on the recruitment of NRC staff and corpsmembers.
Qualifications

- Extensive experience and technical skills in natural resources management work and construction
- Experience in supervising, training and educating young adults
- Ability to motivate and inspire others
- Demonstrated ability to safely use power and hand tools
- Ability to communicate clearly with project sponsors
- Desire and ability to work in fast paced environment
- Ability to perform strenuous work
- Highly organized
- Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook applications
- Ability to obtain Standard First Aid and CPR certification within 2 months of hire
- Clean driving record and ability to obtain a California Class B Driver's license and pass CCNB's driving exam
Educations & Experience
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
- Education - Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in natural resources, construction management or related field, from an accredited college or university.
- Experience - 3 to 5 years of experience supervising various levels of staff in the Natural Resources or Construction field.

- The Marin Natural Resources Program Coordinator sometimesworks outdoors around equipment and machinery, walking on uneven ground and steep hillsides, with exposure to excessive noise, fumes and extremes in temperature.

- This position frequently uses special visual and auditory protective equipment. While performing the duties of this position, the MNRPMis required to walk and stand; sit and bend; squat and climb; kneel and twist; to talk or hear.
- They use hands to perform simple and power grasping, and fine manipulation; to push and pull.
- Additionally, there are normal office working conditions and associated physical demands.
- For example, on a continuous basis, sit at a desk using a computer and in meetings for long periods of time. Intermittently twist to reach equipment surrounding desk.
