Natural Resource Intern

Background:

The Student Immersion Program in Education and Research provides students with all levels of experience opportunities to participate in scientific studies in a field setting.

In general the program focuses on natural resource monitoring and research throughout the Owens Valley, the Sierra Nevada, and White Mountains.

Room and board is provided for the students at the University of California White Mountain Research Station in Bishop.

During orientation week students are taught the skills needed for field work including orienteering, four wheel driving, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), as well as computer skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and website design.
