Position Overview
The National Commercial Solar Advisor will seek, sell, and develop commercial, municipal, and small utility PV system projects in numerous U.S markets.
Responsibilities will include the developing of projects from concept through contract, and the numerous steps in between. The National Commercial Solar Advisor must be able to work independently with minimal supervision while utilizing our internal support team. They must also be able to prospect through their own independent activities while supplemented by company provided assignments.
Responsibilities
- Secure contracts for commercial, municipal, and small utility segments for projects generally 300 kW to 5MW. Travel as required, approx. 10-20%
- Aggressively pursue, qualify, drive, and close commercial deals for near term revenue
- Develop and maintain long term key business and government customer relationships
- Actively network, develop and manage new B2B leads
- Stay heavily plugged in to the PV market
- Schedule and perform initial on-site solar evaluations while educating prospective clients on solar options and rewards
- Prepare and present accurate and professional proposals
- Support project management with client interaction post sale
- Represent Bella at events such as industry meetings, trade shows and other functions as warranted
- Perform continuous market analysis and identify future market potential
- Understand, create, and analyze economic models including PPAs and incentive structures
- Insure the most favorable value proposition is offered to client
- Develop relationships with key decision makers and relationships within assigned segments
Qualifications
Desired Skills & Experience:
- 3 - 5 yrs sales experience minimum in PV sales, commercial experience required
- Commercial solar project development experience with PPA and Lease structures
- Proven commercial photovoltaic closings
- Superior knowledge of the solar industry; including technology, pricing, incentives, and deal structure options
- Self-motivated, personable and professional, detail oriented, with excellent communication skills, B2B sales skills and technical aptitude
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients from the board room to the engine room
- Must be able to work independently as well as thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment
- Strong desire to bring best practices to the team, share your knowledge and expertise and enable mutual success as the organization continues to grow
- Digitally savvy on the web, CRM, Excel, Word, Power Point is required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
