Salary: Starting salary of $22,000
Iowa CCI is seeking a Membership Coordinator to maintain communication with our members, increase our membership statewide, and look for new ways to involve our members in grassroots organizing activities.
This staff person would work as part of a team with our rural and urban members across the state.
Responsibilities include:

Coordinating communication with our members by maintaining our web site, producing a quarterly newsletter, developing an annual report, sending regular email updates and action alerts, producing membership recruitment and education materials, and otherwise maintaining communication with our members.

Helping to increase our membership by coordinating staff and member recruitment efforts,identifying public presentation/ outreach opportunities that will educate people about CCI, and training members on membership recruitment.

Assisting with grant writing and reporting as well as other project activities as needed.

Additional Information about CCI:
CCI works in both urban and rural areas of Iowa and has nearly 1,800 dues paying members. Our membership has increased by 30% in the past year and we want to build on this growth.
Our current rural organizing is focused on factory farms and livestock concentration, economic development, direct marketing, environmental protection (water, air, land), and federal farm policy. We support a system of agriculture that is economically and environmentally just, and based on sustainable family farms and thriving rural communities.
Our current urban organizing takes place in Des Moines, Iowa and includes issues of predatory mortgage lending, problem real estate contract sales, environmental issues, crime and drugs, neighborhood improvement issues, and youth organizing.
To achieve our goals and objectives, we use community organizing strategies and techniques that encourage citizen participation, hold institutions accountable to grassroots people, and emphasize issue and leadership development. This includes holding public meetings and planning meetings, doing direct action protests and rallies, utilizing the media, conducting leadership training sessions, and initiating other activities.
