Position Overview:

This role will be responsible for the sale of advertisements, webinars, video sponsorships and other products for the Cleantech Group's media properties, including its website and on-line newsletter.

Candidates will be expected to develop and maintain solid client relationships for continued sales growth with technology vendors, service providers and others active in the cleantech space.

Responsibilities:

  • Exceed assigned sales goals for advertisements, webinars, sponsorships, and video sales primarily through telephone as well as in person contact and email.
  • Prepare sales proposals to include advertisement layout, script, proposed fee schedule, time frame for completion and other related requirements.
  • Implement lead generation system and process for identifying, qualifying and closing new prospective sponsors.
  • Prospect new business and develop positive relationships with clients.
  • Responsible for following up to ensure payment of invoices and compliance with terms of advertising contract.
  • Update, maintain, and expand existing database and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Propose appropriate sales and promotional materials.
  • Attend assigned events.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff to ensure coordinated sales and marketing effort.
  • Fill out daily sales report and weekly sales summary and all other required administrative reports.
  • Develop appropriate sales and analysis management reports.

Qualifications:

  • Background in and knowledge of advertising sales
  • Knowledge of Internet media products and services
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and convincing manner
  • Ability to listen and interpret the needs of the customer
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
  • Knowledge of marketing research

Compensation package includes base and commission.
