Position Overview

Conergy is currently hiring a full-time Marketing Copywriter/PR Analyst to support the company's general marketing and marketing communications initiatives. 

This position entails writing and editing marketing and advertising copy and collateral, technical white papers, user case studies, editorial content, PR, direct mail, e-mail, Powerpoint presentations, speechwriting, text for websites and other related materials targeting multiple audiences in the B to B market.

This position requires an articulate writer who understands both technology and marketing and has strong writing, editing and proof-reading skills. Your marketing or PR background should include an understanding of marketing personas, product positioning, lead generation, and branding as well as the fundamentals of Public and Media Relations. You will report to the Marketing Operations Manager but will collaborate frequently with other departments in the US and Internationally.

This creative, dynamic and entrepreneurial position includes:

  • Developing copy for use in marketing materials ranging from brochures to audio / visual educational aides, website and e-newsletters for a wide array of B2B and B2C product, program and technical subjects.
  • Developing story ideas and writing press releases, by-lined articles, magazine articles, case studies, and speeches.
  • Implementing marketing driven PR strategy and PR plans for the US market.
  • Generating frequent, strategic editorial coverage of the company in trade and consumer media - print & electronic.
  • Working closely with marketing personnel to create compelling and persuasive copy that supports brand strategy and speaks to target audiences.
  • Conducting research and synthesizing information from a wide variety of sources to complete a variety of projects.
  • Working closely with marketing personnel to develop consistent style and messaging within corporate guidelines.
  • Managing the publication process from researching, writing, and editing, through to the graphics stage including external contractors and collaboration with colleagues.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and editing written copy and content submitted by other content owners to ensure quality, adherence to established standards and consistency in presentation.
  • Supporting internal communication efforts.

Successful and confident candidates should possess the following qualifications: 

  • 3-5+ years hands-on copywriting and/or PR experience either for a marketing or communications group in the renewable energy industry or other related industries, or for an advertising, PR or marketing agency.
  • BS/BA degree required in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Expert writing & verbal skills, flawless editorial and proofreading skills and ability to demonstrate extreme attention to detail in prior written works.
  • Ability to absorb technical information and communicate to multiple target groups and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience writing for print and online applications and strong understanding of the major differences between the two.
  • Experience with high value technologies.
  • Knowledge of the renewable energy industry and understanding of overall regulatory and market trends.
  • Outgoing personality and ability to create networks.
  • Experience managing external contractors and collaborating on team projects as well as work independently
  • An appetite for creativity and imaginativeness, a proactive style and the ability to work in a fast paced environment required.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage a heavy workload.
  • Ability to work within design software (Powerpoint, Indesign, Photoshop, content management software) as well as professional user of MS Office.
  • B to B marketing experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel.
