Position Summary: 

We are looking for an experienced Marketing Communications Manager to join our team. The primary job responsibilities include: 

  1. Managing and leading the development of multiple corporate marketing communication strategies, processes, tools and collateral to be leveraged company-wide, amongst US-based and international business units    
  2. Managing ongoing development of SunPower's global corporate brand and advertising strategy, product and service naming, messaging and positioning initiatives    
  3. Managing and building relationships with a variety of creative service marketing vendors, designers and agencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Develop best practices and processes for managing and growing existing brand, and creating product names, positioning and messaging    
  • Develop and deliver corporate-wide product collateral, brochures, web and email marketing content, corporate videos, and tradeshow/event content for US and International use    
  • Design and develop sales tools and training materials to ensure consistent communication of corporate value proposition, product positioning and messaging throughout the field    
  • Develop and execute strategic product launch marketing communication plans for the U.S., Europe and Asia and across multiple Business Units, and communicate plans to sales, marketing and executive teams    
  • Manage corporate website design, development, updates and maintenance    
  • Manage strategic brand advertising program and competitive review, working with business units to align with vertical advertising plans and goals    
  • Manage and further develop corporate case study program for commercial and residential divisions    
  • Manage and develop new Customer Marketing Program enabling customers to further promote and extend awareness around their current solar investments    
  • Travel up to 25%, international and domestic, around specific events

Technical Skills: 

  • Proficient with MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint  
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and related design graphics programs  
  •  Working knowledge of CRM and/or Analytic systems (such as salesforce.com, Siebel or other) 

Performance Skills: 

  • Excellent oral communication skills; customer orientation; team interaction/effectiveness; decision-making ability and multi-tasking ability    
  • Exceptional writing skills; Must be highly effective at content development by interfacing with subject matter experts/product managers/engineers/field reps. to develop and deliver content    
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to create and apply program timelines, interdependencies, budgets, and post program metrics    
  • Strong presentation skills; influence/interpersonal skills, analytical and good problem solving skills required    
  • Effective at working within a matrix organization, in which dotted line reporting may be in place to the Business Units (Channel Sales, Project Sales)    
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, and who can contribute strategically as well as lead tactical execution

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Arts or Sciences, MBA a plus    
  • Five or more years corporate marketing, marketing communications and/or product marketing experience or training, with proven track record of success, measured results    
  • International marketing experience highly desirable    
  • Prior vendor or agency management experience highly desirable

Qualifications: 

  • A valid passport is required for this position    
  • Prior "green" or renewable energy industry experience is terrific    
  • Local candidates will be given preference    
  • Position based in either Berkeley or San Jose    
  • U. S. residency sponsorship is not available for this position
