Position Overview:

Aligning with AccountAbility's overall strategic focus, this position is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the communications function. You will deliver a high level of intellectual rigour, accountability and innovation in our communications activities while raising brand awareness, proliferating core messages and shaping AccountAbility's personality and tone. This is a full-time position based in London, UK or New York, USA

Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Marketing:

  • Lead the development and implementation of an organisation-wide marketing strategy
  • Lead on all marketing activities within the organisation Communications
  • Lead the development and implementation of an organisation wide communications strategy, to include a strong web and social media element
  • Support the roll-out of an overall internal communication strategy and the management of internal and external networks in order to further the work of AccountAbility

PR:

  • Introduce to AccountAbility and nurture a portfolio of international marketing and communications contacts to increase on-going press coverage in specialist and general media
  • Ensure continuous appropriate press coverage of AccountAbility's position on key strategic issues
  • Manage all media requests, with a view to leveraging opportunities

Branding:

  • Build and leverage brand equity within AccountAbility
  • Ensure the timely delivery of coherent and compelling messages, publications and successful broadcasting in print and media.
  • Produce and edit text and publications for a variety of internal and external communications channels.
  • Assist in the development of internal and external branding strategies in-line with the overall communications strategy

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be an experienced Communications professional (more than 7 - 10 years relevant project and client management experience is desirable), with a genuine interest in AccountAbility and sustainability issues. In addition, you will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field (such as business, marketing, international affairs or political science)
  • Expertise on all matters relating to marketing, public relations and communications
  • Proven ability in brand development, implementation and management
  • Extensive understanding of developing communications activities on a regional, national and international level
  • Database marketing experience, with the ability to analyse & interpret data that creates data-driven marketing strategies
  • Proven online marketing abilities in driving revenue via Search Engine Optimisation, email and social media
  • Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships for collaborative efforts
  • Ability to influence and interact effectively with multiple levels of organisational seniority
  • Detail-orientated with excellent written and oral communications skills, specifically pertaining to written correspondence in the various communication mediums including web and print-based marketing material. Proficiency in written and spoken English required
  • Experience of communications in a consulting or professional services would be a strong plus
  • Willingness to travel globally
