Description
This position is the leadership role for the production, logistics, quality and commodity handling groups within the division. The primary goal is to create a competitive advantage for the business by developing and overseeing strategies and plans that will result in superior performance in the key value drivers within these functions and to implement operations improvement projects while ensuring a safe working environment for the team.
Position Duties:
- Ensure all safety environmental policies and procedures are adhered to within the engineering group
- Provide leadership and visible commitment towards best practice in manufacturing
- Participate in the Division leadership team and Develop and oversee Manufacturing budgets for the division
- Make sure the key performance indicators (KPIs) for the manufacturing group are met
- Develop manufacturing management vision, strategy and policy in conjunction with Operations Management
- Develop quality control and assurance processes suitable for implementation by the laboratory
- Develop Statistical Control Processes within the department for better control of the manufacturing process
- Work closely with Engineering group as part of the outage planning team
- Provide input into and eventually sign-off from a manufacturing perspective on CER proposals prepared by the Project Engineer for inclusion in the annual capital program
- Ensure SOP's are developed and maintained up to date and that appropriate training needs are met for the team
- Oversee ethanol, grain and DDGS stock control
- Coordinate logistics operations in conjunction with Sales and Trading department.
- Ensure the appropriate policies and procedures are implemented in Manufacturing through consultation and feedback processes
- Develop effective relationships with other ethanol manufacturing professionals so as to stay abreast of technical developments
- Work closely with other Manufacturing Managers within Global Ethanol to ensure coordinated and aligned implementation of programs Job
Salary: 65-85k - Depending on Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Applied Science with Bachelor's degree and chemical process experience.
- 10 - 15 years of hands on manufacturing experience
- Experience in the delivery of the principles of logistics planning and scheduling
- Experience in successfully delivering change to an established system
- Superior knowledge of OSHA and EPA Regulations and Compliance Codes of Practice
- Desirable experience in a 24/7 operation plant is highly desirable, experience in ethanol production industries, experience in working in hazardous zones
- Engineer with minimum Bachelors degree in process/chemical engineering or related field is highly desirable
