Description

Beginning in 1979 with oil-trading ventures in Latin America and Africa, Citizens Energy has used revenues from commercial enterprises to channel millions of dollars into charitable programs in the U.S. and abroad. Whether heating the homes of the elderly and the poor, lowering the cost of prescription drugs for millions of Americans, or starting solar heating projects in Jamaica and Venezuela, Citizens creates social ventures as innovative as the businesses that finance them.

Citizens Energy's solar business seeks to develop successful solar projects to provide clean, green sources of renewable energy that reduce harmful carbon emissions and make us less dependent on foreign sources of fuel. At the same time, our solar projects generate revenues to serve our non-profit mission of making life's most basic needs more accessible and affordable.

Position Overview:

Seeking a driven, entrepreneurial, experienced project manager to ensure successful construction of 5 ground-mounted, utility-scale solar electric generating assets. These assets are located in Massachusetts and will be owned and operated by an existing energy company. Company's current business initiatives include utility-scale solar development, utility-scale wind development, high-voltage transmission development, and conservation/efficiency projects at commercial and industrial buildings.

The initial focus of the position is to manage the construction of 5 solar assets, which are scheduled to begin in March 2012. Once construction for these 5 projects is complete, the role will expand into asset management of the 5 projects constructed and/or management of the project development process for future projects.

Manager of Solar Energy Construction will have a firm understanding of construction project management, be able to manage sub-contractors, the procurement process, provide oversight to civil and electrical engineering design, and execute on-time and on-budget delivery of a completed solar asset. Manager of Solar Energy Construction will be responsible for managing all aspects of construction including budgeting, scheduling, engineering, and procurement.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidate will have extensive construction management experience in the energy space. Must have a strong desire to succeed/win, and be a self-starter with passion to create value in renewable/alternative energy.

Work environment is fast-paced, entrepreneurial, aggressive, and located in Boston, Massachusetts.

To Apply:

Interested candidates should please send a cover letter and resume.
