Description

Manitoba Innovation, Energy and Mines, Winnipeg.

Responsibilities:  

This position is responsible for shaping energy policies in the context of Manitoba's position within the broader Canadian and North American energy framework. The incumbent provides executive decision makers advice, policy recommendations and outlook information on a variety of renewable energy sources. Particular emphasis will be on hydroelectric-related developments including generation, transmission, export sales and reliability.

Qualifications:  

A post secondary degree in a relevant discipline such as engineering, environmental studies/policy, political science, or economics. Several years experience working in the hydroelectric energy sector, with a focus on policy development and/or strategic planning and/or regulatory issues in the North American context. Significant experience conducting research, interpreting legislation and policies and providing strategic briefing material with recommendations for senior officials. Experience working at a senior level on inter-jurisdictional steering committees/working groups.

Candidates possessing other combinations of the education and experience listed may be considered at a commensurate salary level.

Compensation: $63,832 to $81,326 per year.
