EnerNOC unlocks the full value of energy management for our utility and commercial, institutional, and industrial (C&I) customers by reducing real-time demand for electricity, increasing energy efficiency, improving energy supply transparency in competitive markets, and mitigating emissions. We accomplish this by delivering world-class energy management applications including DemandSMARTTM, comprehensive demand response; SiteSMARTTM, data-driven energy efficiency; SupplySMARTTM, energy price and risk management; and CarbonSMARTTM, enterprise carbon management.
Our Energy Network Operations Center (EnerNOC) supports these applications across thousands of C&I customer sites throughout the world. Using our C&I customers' energy usage flexibility, we make capacity, energy, ancillary services, and carbon products available to grid operators and our more than 100 utility customers on demand as a cost-effective alternative to traditional power generation, transmission, and distribution.
Position Overview:
For the regulatory affairs expert with effective influencing abilities, this is an opportunity to be on the cutting edge of exciting policy development within the energy industry. EnerNOC is a new type of energy company deploying demand side management products and services. This newly created role will be instrumental in our company's continued success in the marketplace. You will truly put your stamp on a well-regarded company that is making great strides throughout North America in the energy industry.
In this highly visible role, you will influence RTO/ISO and state regulatory processes toward policies favorable to clean energy solutions. EnerNOC has an entrepreneurial spirit and if you are a well-rounded individual who enjoys jumping in and doing whatever needs to be done, then this 'create, think and problem solve role' just may be for you! The rules are still being written for this new and innovative energy industry space, and this is an exciting place to be to work on cutting edge policy development!
Responsibilities:
As our Manager of Regulatory Affairs, you will actively work inside RTO/ISO stakeholder processes and other appropriate regulatory and legislative and regulatory arenas to advocate for rule development for the EnerNOC markets and its commercial end-users. You will be based out of your home office, or one of EnerNOC's existing offices in the Midwest or Mid-Atlantic U.S. and you can expect regular weekly travel to meetings in the region and other areas of the U.S.
Qualifications:
Your broad strategic and tactical understanding of the electric power industry will be key to your success in this role, and your comprehensive knowledge of emerging regulatory and legislative energy issues will allow you to effectively identify and communicate to EnerNOC management new or expanded regulatory initiatives that may impact the delivery of our products and services.
We will look to you to monitor policy initiatives related to the energy issues, and to participate in hearings and meetings developing policy. Your 'take charge' attitude, ability to take initiative and be an active participant in webinars and meetings, working your network of existing contacts and ours to secure speaking engagements, and secure EnerNOC active spots in tradeshows will be critical to building our brand.
Leveraging your ability to write, edit, research and review filings and briefings will be necessary as you will deliver effective messages to key legislative and regulatory staff. Have fun with a committed team that is passionate about making our energy industry more efficient, effective, and environmentally sustainable.
