Seeking a dynamic individual who has a strong ability to mobilize and organize people to take action, and an interest in protecting land.
The Manager of Grassroots Advocacy works under the Director of Land Use Planning in the Land Use Planning Advocacy Program. The program protects the Eastern Shore as a special place of farms, forests, and vibrant small towns through its own policy initiatives, and through opposition to harmful policies and development projects.
Responsibilities include organizing and mobilizing citizens and for planning and conducting public campaigns.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, communications or related field; two or more years experience with political or public policy campaigns, including volunteer organization; excellent public speaking and communication skills; familiarity with online organizing tools; ability to multi-task while thinking creatively and strategically; availability for evening and weekend meetings or events; knowledge of land use issues and their impacts, and an understanding of the land use policy-making process is desirable.
