Position Overview: 

Managed by the Pew Environment Group, the Global Conservation Campaign is a collaboration among several conservation organizations. The campaign's goal is to dramatically raise the visibility of the extinction crisis, build an influential public constituency that will mobilize to get the crisis addressed, and increase the amount of funding-from the U.S. government and other governments-to dramatically expand the world's protected areas system.

The Global Conservation campaign is in a search for the Manager for this important initiative.

Responsibilities: 

Reporting to the Director of the project the Manager, Global Conservation Campaign will:

  • Help coordinate a team of media, government affairs, and organizing professionals to implement campaign activities.
  • Design and implement education and outreach strategies for Congress and the administration.
  • Serve as a substantive resource for congressional and administration staff. Legislative and administration outreach strategies will include working with a national coalition of environmental NGOs, businesses, health groups, faith groups, and other key constituencies.
  • Help develop effective public messages on global conservation and design and implement strategies for getting those messages into the press.

Qualifications: 

The successful candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in campaigns or advocacy work with some substantial expertise in the environmental space. Bachelor's degree is required, advanced degree is preferred.
