Ocean Renewable Power Company (ORPC) is at the forefront of the revolutionary tidal energy field. We currently have a key management role available for an experienced environmental professional to help us get to the next level.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science (BS), advanced degree desirable, from an accredited university, several years (7 to 10 minimum) of environmental and/or energy licensing support experience, excellent presentation and writing skills, ability to work with regulators, consultants and staff people.

This position requires travel, direct interaction with government agencies, supervisory expertise in managing internal and external resources and the ability to prioritize several projects and conflicting demands. Field work will be required. Candidates must be familiar with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) licensing process and related agency procedures, and have experience with complex document preparation.

The position will also support the engineering and project development groups within ORPC, the portions of this positions time will vary depending upon the environmental permitting and licensing needs and schedules.

We are seeking a person with intellectual curiosity, the ability to rigorously apply basic science concepts, and with the communications and personal skills to mediate interactions between engineering staff, scientific and non-scientific governmental and regulatory agencies, and the general public. Areas of technical expertise which will be considered useful include: GIS, resource assessment, fisheries and marine mammal studies, acoustics in the marine environment, physics, biology, environmental science, energy sciences, oceanography, civil or environmental engineering.

Other skills of value: contractor management, field study and scope definition, project estimating.
