Description
Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. seeks a Manager, Energy Conservation for the Environmental Initiatives department.
Position Overview:
- Track and document company's utilities (electric, water & gas) usage.
- Analyze consumption data and identify no cost, low cost, as well as investment-based opportunities for increasing energy efficiency.
- Create monthly reports and make presentations documenting consumption information, improvements made, results, difficulties, and recommendations.
- Conduct monthly readings of Energy Management Systems (Power Logic, BWP meters) and billing information systems in order to identify potential errors, as well as savings opportunities.
- Interface with energy providers (BWP, So Cal Gas Co). Collaborate with Studio utilities departments, Corporate Real Estate department, television and feature production companies, and a variety of stakeholders.
- Inspect office buildings and sounds stages, communicate with employees and production staff to assess operational conservation opportunities.
- Inspect lighting, HVAC, water and any other energy consuming systems as needed.
- Recommend retrofits as appropriate.
- Conduct and present cost & benefit analyses on capital improvements as well as operational energy efficiency opportunities and peak shaving strategies. Input and track greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory data associated with utilities use.
- Support TW GHG inventory project. Communicate company policies and mission on energy conservation throughout the company in order to raise and maintain energy and environmental awareness.
- Continually seek out and apply for applicable energy rebates and incentives. Identify training and procedural needs for studio staff on equipment maintenance and operation.
- Serve as technical as well as "cultural" support to those implementing changes in their areas.
- Conduct environmental accounting on various department projects.
- Support other department projects as needed.
Requirements:
- B.S. in Engineering a plus.
- 3-5 years experience in the energy industry required.
- LEED Accredited Professional a plus.
- Entertainment industry experience a plus.
- CEM (Certified Energy Manager) and/or CEE (Certified Energy Engineer) and/or PE (Professional Engineer) registration.
- Must have technical expertise in all types of energy systems and equipment (including gas & water).
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have excellent people skills and a winning personality.
- Must have computer proficiency, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must have excellent mathematical analysis skills.
- Must be able to work independently, as well as with cross-functional teams.
- Must be able to organize and schedule work effectively.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Knowledge of energy simulation software a plus.
- Knowledge of energy remote monitoring software a plus.
- Must have the ability to translate and communicate technical information in a simple, tangible manner.
- Must have the ability to motivate, persuade and affect change in a positive, enthusiastic manner.
- Must be able to work well under time constraints, in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and projects in different subject areas.
- Must be able to resolve problems diplomatically and effectively.
- Knowledge of environmental benefits of energy conservation required.
- Proficiency in financial analyses of energy consumption as well as cost/benefits proposals.
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems a plus.
- Knowledge of greenhouse gas inventory protocols (WRI/WBCSD) a plus.
- Knowledge of TV and Feature production a plus.
- General office activities: Figure manipulation, walking, standing, sitting, typing, talking, etc.
- Additional light lifting and some outdoor activities.
- Ability to climb on roofs and platforms to inspect equipment.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
