Description
The Lakota Fund is a community development organization that actively promotes the socioeconomic sustainability of the Oglala Lakota Oyate (people) on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Its culturally appropriate strategies include business loans, technical assistance, and targeted community and business development. It is the first and only financial development institution on the reservation.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Work as a part of the project team and coordinates extensively with consultants;
- Responsible for assuring that the work plan is carried out as described in the project;
- Establish OWP and work plans at the beginning of each project year;
- Provide on-going support, coordination, and development of loan committee;
- Provide on-going coordination and tracking of key consultants to develop loan products and loan policies and procedures;
- Liaison between project and related work of Lakota Fund;
- During the first year, focus on research and development of products, policies, and procedures;
- During the second year, focus on implementation and revision of products, policies, and procedures;
- During the third year, focus on institutionalization of new products and practices.
Job Experience:
- Good organizational and scheduling skills, dependable, consistent performance;
- Ability to be creative, flexible, and take initiative;
- Ability to function as a team player;
- Eagerness to learn about the loan process;
- Ability to assist consultants to adapt their work to the needs of the Pine Ridge Reservation;
- Prefer experience working in Indian country;
- Must have valid driver's license.
