Description
The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), a national nonprofit environmental organization, seeks an attorney to work as a full-time litigation fellow in our Santa Monica, California office. This is a two-year fellowship available immediately. Our staff of 300 includes attorneys, scientists, and other specialists working to protect the environment.
The attorney will work as part of a team focusing on marine mammal protection. This position involves cutting-edge work in diverse fields of advocacy: litigation, administrative advocacy, international law advocacy, and legislative analysis and lobbying. It has a particularly strong litigation component.
We are seeking a recent law school graduate with up to 3 years of professional experience, a superior academic background, and excellent legal writing and analytical skills. The successful applicant will possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage and prioritize a heavy workload while working as a member of a team. Experience as a federal court clerk is a plus, as is a demonstrated interest in environmental protection and/or nonprofit work.
