Life Cycle Assessment Manager

Sustainable Solutions Corporation has a growing list of clients who are actively pursuing strategies to reduce their environmental impact and increase the sustainability of their operations and products. We help them develop and implement a corporate sustainability strategy for reducing energy use, water use, and waste.

Our manufacturing clients don’t stop there; they elect to conduct Life Cycle Assessment in order to better understand and improve their products. We are currently looking for an individual to conduct Life Cycle Assessments on a variety of interesting products and manage the Life Cycle Assessment segment of our business.

Position Overview:

The Life Cycle Assessment Manager is a member of the SSC team and will effectively interact with all project team members as well as our clients. The LCA Manager will conduct and deliver Life Cycle Assessments for clients and oversee/mentor team members conducting LCA’s or other environmental impact assessments. Responsibilities will include some travel and plant site visits.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct Life Cycle Assessments on a variety of product types in a variety of industries
• Conduct material and process flow analyses
• Conduct other environmental impact assessments
• Conduct site visits for information gathering purposes
• Participate in the development of proposals and other marketing materials
• Develop and submit project deliverables and presentation materials
• Mentor and supervise other team members involved in conducting LCA's and other environmental assessments
• Become a Subject Matter Expert by staying current in best practices, standards development, research software, and other technical aspects
• Present findings and recommendations to clients and other groups
• Ensure that projects are completed accurately, on time, and on budget
• Ensure quality and customer satisfaction

Qualifications: 

Candidate Profile:

This candidate has excellent people skills and enjoys developing client relationships. The LCA Manager is always looking for opportunities to help our clients evaluate and improve their products and processes. Must be well-organized and be able to work collaboratively with others and communicate clearly to clients, peers and subcontractors to complete work that moves your project to completion. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, technical analysis and the ability to think on both a micro and macro level. Taking initiative, follow-through, persistence, and a strong research capability are key components to this position.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in performing, managing, and/or communicating of LCA and other related topics
• Bachelor's Degree is required. Preferred in Environmental Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• Master's Degree in Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Power and Process Engineering, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering a plus
• Proficiency with LCA tools such as SimaPro and GaBi
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
• Previous experience in the consulting business
• Competent in AutoCAD
• Strong ability in technical analysis
• Strong Excel capabilities with a focus on data management
• Ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once Desire to produce top quality work

• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
• Proficiency in English, spoken and written
• Eagerness to mentor others
