Position Overview
Thornton Tomasetti is seeking a LEED Project Manager in the Sustainability Practice Group to provide project management, business development expertise and technical expertise in green building and energy efficiency. The position is to be based in Portland, Maine for Thornton Tomasetti's Sustainability Practice.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all LEED related work from the Portland Maine Office.
- Oversee interns and future staff who perform LEED related work.
- Manage projects under all LEED rating systems, including but not limited to LEED for New Construction, Interior Design and Construction and LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance.
- Serve as the primary point for client contact.
- Actively market the Sustainability Practice Group in targeted geographic markets as determined by Office Marketing and Business Development Plan.
- Prepare proposals and marketing materials.
- Work with engineers and energy analysts to help convey energy efficiency strategies for high performance buildings through building energy simulations.
- Facilitate design and construction team members in sustainable design charrettes and workshops.
- Review LEED credit documentation for compliance with standards.
- Manage billing, projections and other financial metrics for assigned projects.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Degree in architecture, engineering, environmental science, planning, real estate development, or related field.
- 5-10 years of related experience.
- Strong background and track record of managing LEED projects.
- LEED AP designation with specialty.
- Understanding and experience with multiple LEED rating systems.
- Understanding of building systems design & operations.
- Basic understanding of energy modeling software.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent writing and speaking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and clients.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute numerous project responsibilities simultaneously.
- 2-5 days of business travel per month may be required.
