Description
Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the USGBC is the nation’s leading coalition for advancing buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to work. The Council developed and administers the LEED™ system--Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System--which was created to raise consumer awareness, transform the marketplace and establish market value with a recognizable national “brand.” As the national benchmark on what constitutes a green building, LEED™ is a comprehensive system offering proven standards, training, technical assistance, and professional accreditation. It has already been adopted by numerous federal agencies, state and local governments, and a broad array of companies.
The US Green Building Council is looking to recruit an energetic graduate engineer to provide technical support in the development and promotion of the LEED™ Green Building Rating System and related products. The successful candidate will need to work within a multi-disciplinary team and show excellent technical knowledge of building and M&E systems and good awareness of their environmental and economic consequences. Project experience and knowledge of LEED™ will also be useful. He/she will need tact, diplomacy, good communication skills and the ability to work flexibly with the Council’s technical and market sector Committees in developing LEED™ versions and promoting them. The US Green Building Council is growing rapidly in response to demand for LEED™ and its other services. This growth should ensure excellent prospects for career development.
