Position Overview:

We are seeking a Commissioning Agent to direct high profile LEED projects throughout the United States. The Commissioning Agent will coordinate with the client and lead the commissioning activities on a suite of green building projects including LEED for new construction, commercial interiors and existing buildings.

The Commissioning Agent has no direct supervisory responsibilities, yet has indirect coordination responsibilities over all the teammates on their projects. This position will be a full time position focused solely on commissioning. 

Responsibilities:

  •  Planning, directing and monitoring all aspects of several concurrent multi-disciplined projects.
  •  Lead commissioning effort for MEP systems
  •  Develop functional performance test plans
  •  Generate start up procedures
  •  Design review, installation QA/QC, functional performance tests
  •  Operations/maintenance training and energy efficiency audits
  •  Participate in the development and maintenance of the standards

Qualifications:

The successful candidate in this position will be educated in mechanical engineering with a designation of Professional Engineer (PE) or will have been trained in the mechanical trades. 

They will have 5-10 years experience in putting systems into place or managing those systems in facilities. 

A prerequisite for this hire will be that the successful candidate has successfully completed, at a minimum, two projects utilizing one or more of the US Green Building Council's LEED Green Building Rating System(s), preferably LEED NC or LEED CI. 

Familiarity with the Energy Star Portfolio Manager is a plus as is experience with energy modeling.

  • Education - Minimum of an accredited Bachelor degree in Engineering
  • Professional Engineer
  • Experience - Minimum of  years experience with MEP systems
  • Extensive knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC equipment, digital controls and programming
  • CxAP or equivalent is preferred
  • Strong experience in providing commissioning services for new and existing buildings
  • Proven track record of having developed commissioning project plans, and executing field work
  • Previous experience with the organization of design documents, the preparation of the multidiscipline designs, and the delivery of the design and construction services.
  • Energy modeling experience
  • Scope of work development.
  • Project budget and schedule management.
  • Coordination of the project team.
  • Understanding and ability to communicate roles and responsibilities to the project team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to mentor teammates.

Software and Technology Requirements:

  • Building Systems Control software
  • Energy Star Portfolio Manager
  • Energy modeling software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook.

Specialized Knowledge/Licenses/etc

  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Lead projects utilizing one or more of the US Green Building Council's LEED Green Building Rating System(s), preferably LEED NC or LEED CI. 
  • LEED Accredited Professional
