Duties
We are seeking an intermediate licensed professional engineer in the area of waste management, with emphasis on landfill permitting, design, development, operation, closure, monitoring and reporting.
The position is based out of our Waterloo office. The successful candidate will provide technical support to our southwest Ontario operations, on numerous landfill related projects including:
- preparation of design, operation and closure plans;
- preparation of annual monitoring and progress reports:
- development of financial assurance plans; completion of leachate characterization and treatability assessments;
- design of leachate collection and liner/capping systems;
- preparation of contract drawings and specifications for landfill construction;
- and enjoy the responsibility of managing client relationships, projects and staff.
Qualifications:
- Preferred candidates will have a working knowledge of associated legislation/regulations such as EAA, EPA, OWRA and OHSA;
- Minimum 2 years experience;
- Civil / Environmental Engineering degree with PEO eligibility;
- Strong analytical skills and chemistry knowledge are required;
- An individual with strong written and oral communication skills, strong desire to provide excellent practical client service and a commitment to technical excellence;
- Must be well organized, have the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time, deliver on time and on budget;
- Advanced education or additional languages an asset.
