Land Stewardship Director

~ The Buzzards Bay Coalition is a membership-supported nonprofit organization dedicated to the restoration, protection, and sustainable use and enjoyment of Buzzards Bay and its watershed. ~ 

Position Overview 

The Buzzards Bay Coalition seeks an accomplished conservation professional to serve as Land Stewardship Director for this energetic, performance-driven and rapidly growing regional organization.

The full-time position reports to the Vice President of Watershed Protection, joins a talented and diversified team of professional staff, and is responsible for the management and care of conservation lands protected by the organization. 

Responsibilities  

• Increasing the rate of land protection and the total amount of permanently protected land within the Buzzards Bay watershed is a key programmatic objective of our organization's work.
• This inherently comes with the obligation to appropriately manage lands that are protected, a responsibility that we take very seriously and which is ultimately the reason for the creation of this new position within our organization. 

Qualifications  

The ideal candidate for this position will be both motivated to and capable of developing and managing our land stewardship program to a standard of excellence that will: 

• Safeguard the natural resources in our care;
• Offer the public superb opportunities for safe outdoor discovery, recreation and learning;
• Highlight the benefits of protecting the Bay's watershed lands;
• Inspire our communities to continue to support land conservation and environmental protection; and,
• Serve as a model for effective conservation land management in our region.
