Junior Solar Designer

Position Overview   

The Jr. Solar Designer will work with the Design team to create code-compliant solar photovoltaic building plans for Complete Solar's residential clients throughout California. The Jr. Solar Designer will create Auto CAD drawings for proposed systems, specify materials, execute structural and electrical calculations, and work with project managers to coordinate scheduling and permitting for system installation. The position relies heavily on civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering concepts and calculations. 

Responsibilities 

• Use Auto CAD software and custom software tools to design residential photovoltaic ground mount and roof top systems
• Work with project managers to submit plans and drawings to building departments 
• Create and maintain contacts with local utilities and state agencies
• Track permitting process through approval
• Work cross functionally with sales, project management and installation teams to ensure clients' needs and internal deadlines are met
• Perform additional duties as assigned and/or directed 

Qualifications 

• Auto CAD proficiency required
• BS degree required, preferably in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering
• Solar PV experience is a plus
• Basic understanding of residential construction
• Basic understanding of residential electric systems
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Detail oriented
• Must be able to thrive and adapt in a fast paced environment
• Strong problem solving abilities 

Compensation: Salary is $45,000 annually.
