Community Weatherization Partners, LLC, a joint venture of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) and Enterprise Community Partners (Enterprise), seeks an entry-level construction management professional to fill the position of Junior Production Coordinator for its NYS Weatherization Assistance Program Temporary Subgrantee contract (WAP Program Year 2010-2011; budget period ending 09/30/11), funded with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds from US DOE, administered by NYS Homes & Community Renewal (HCR).
The CWP program will weatherize over 2,100 units of low-income multifamily housing throughout New York City. LISC and Enterprise have partnered with NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) to implement this program.
Position Overview:
The Junior Production Coordinator will support the day-to-day operations to ensure that field operations are handled in accordance with program guidelines. The Production Coordinator will be an employee of LISC. This is a temporary position. The term of employment is for the length of the HCR contract.
Responsibilities:
Assist in managing a pipeline of buildings to be weatherized in accordance with WAP guidelines. Activities may include:
- Assist in procurement of construction services.
- Work closely with sponsors/building owners to collect information and coordinate site access for construction.
- Assist with the record keeping of HCR forms and other program related documentation. .
- Support the Program and Production Coordinators and Construction Managers to resolve issues related to contractor relationships, production schedule, quality of work, compliance, etc.
- Assist in preparation for and participate in the HCR, DOE, and HPD field reviews.
- Assist with on site construction monitoring.
- Assist in cooordinating staff responsible for Health & Safety testing of all units in buildings that are participating in WAP.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in a related field plus 3 years on-site construction experience OR Bachelors Degree plus 2 year relevant experience OR degree in Architecture plus 1 year on site construction supervision experience preferred
- Working experience with HCR, NYSERD and HPD preferred
- Knowledge of green building and sustainable development strategies, standards, and policies Direct knowledge or experience with HCR Weatherization Assistance Program preferred
- Ability to manage multiple and varied construction projects with meticulous attention to detail; must be highly organized.
- Knowledge of basic building science
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to use the Internet, Word and Excel.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
