We are seeking a part-time Junior Consultant/Administrative Assistant to start in November 2004 (21 hours/week) with the possibility of full-time employment in the future.
Work closely with Jacquie Ottman, founder of J.Ottman Consulting and leading expert on green marketing and eco-innovation. We work in a very busy, small office, and so the person who fills this position will have the opportunity and challenge to take on diverse responsibilities and learn new skills. This is an opportunity to gain exposure to ground-breaking projects and network with design and environmental business leaders in New York, the U.S., and internationally.
Responsibilities:
-Office management, including maintaining computers and office equipment, organizing electronic and paper files, ordering supplies, arranging writing and speaking engagements for Jacquie Ottman, preparing, sending, and tracking invoices, maintaining several databases, sending quarterly email newsletter.
-Assist Jacquie Ottman on green marketing client projects, in line with applicant's experience and abilities.
-Web-site maintenance.
-Occasional writing projects.
-Occasional speaking opportunities at local design schools depending on applicant's abilities and availability.
-Recruitment, training and supervision of 1-3 interns each spring semester, summer, fall semester, and January.
-Organizing logistical aspects of Design:Green workshops
Essential Qualifications:
-Good communication and personal skills, ability to work in close quarters, and creativity.
-Experience and commitment working in the environmental sustainability realm required (if only on an intern/volunteer basis).
-Proficiency with Macintosh operating systems required.
-Working knowledge of most, if not all, of the following programs: Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Filemaker Pro, Adobe GoLive, Photoshop, Fetch, and Quickbooks.
-Savvy about Apple computer hardware and software.
-Writing skills.
-Bookkeeping experience a plus.
