Internship Description:
Ideal Bite is seeking a web developer/programmer intern to work with an experienced team of professionals to support a wide variety of technical duties. The Ideal Bite intern will gain experience in web application development, e-newsletter design and management, website stat analysis, online marketing tactics, real world experience online and off, and contacts in the green industry. This internship is unpaid but structured to give the interns maximum exposure to online and green business strategy, with our goal being to provide the interns with solid experience and help the interns find paid work for their talents.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
1. General website maintenance and troubleshooting
2. Aggregating website usage statistics
3. Correspondence with subscribers regarding technical issues
4. Development of front and back-end website applications
Qualifications & Expectations:
* Minimum commitment of 10-15 hours per week
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* An independent working style requiring minimal supervision
* Highly experienced in LAMP server configurations (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PhP).
* Previous experience in developing MySQL/PhP web applications
* Skilled in creating complex MySQL queries
* Familiarity with writing and editing Perl/CGI scripts
* Skilled in creating user-centric web applications
* Internet and computer access (can also use internet access in our office)
* Interest and knowledge of environmental issues and socially responsible business is a plus
NOTE: internships are on volunteer basis but often lead to paid positions within 3 months.
