Description & Responsibilities

CERES is seeking an Investor Programs Fellow to assist with those programs aimed at assisting institutional investors in responding to climate change, and coordinating investor engagement with companies and policymakers. The Fellow will assist CERES in pursuing seven interrelated strategies to harness the power of institutional investors to press for action on climate change by companies and policy makers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Building the Investor Network on Climate Risk
2. Organizing the Institutional Investor Summit on Climate Risk in 2005
3. Coordinating the global warming shareholder campaign and engaging with companies through outreach to directors and dialogues with top management
4. Pressing the Securities and Exchange Commission to improve disclosure on climate risk
5. Generating pressure on "Wall Street" to factor the risks of climate change into company analyses and industry research
6. Conducting research supporting the business case for action on climate change 7. Assisting with communications and outreach activities

The successful candidate will have the skills and attributes to work as part of the CERES staff team implementing the above strategies. The position is located at CERES's headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts and reports to the Investor Programs Director.

Qualifications:
* Strong academic background with a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
* Demonstrated interest in or experience with environmental and investment issues
* Proven track record of achieving results and collaborating well with a team
* Experience working with external partners and collaborators
* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
* Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Ability to work within a team and independently
