International Climate Policy Volunteer

The Nature Conservancy is the leading conservation organization working to make a positive impact around the world in more than 30 countries, all 50 United States, and your backyard. Founded in 1951.The mission of the Nature Conservancy is to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends.

Responsibilities:

• Complete a variety of research tasks related to climate finance policy efforts in developing countries
• Monitor advances on international climate policy processes
• Gather, maintain, and compile relevant reports, studies, and data in general for the International Climate Policy section of TNC's Climate Change intranet website
• Assist in completing specific tasks for the team as needed (meeting planning, etc.)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in political sciences (law, policy, international studies)
• Fluency in English
• Working knowledge of Spanish is desirable
• Experience with MS Office, Word, and Excel
• Research experience for public policy, law, international development, or any related field
• Must be based in the Washington, D.C. area
• Experience with social media, HTML, and database management

Compensation: This position is unpaid.

Period: Summer 2012 (mid-June to end of August 2012)
