Position Overview:
MCFA is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team for the summer 2011 as a Data Analysis/Business Intern. This position is administrative in nature and requires a strong proficiency in MS Office Suite. The role supports our client at Fort Monmouth, NJ. The primary purpose of this position is to leverage the manager's time by assisting in the realm of data analyses related to real property and tracking tenants on the base.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this role may include but are not limited to:
- Data collection acquisition and analysis
- Data standardization & conversion
- Records management, cataloging and library maintenance
- Inventory audits
- Surveys and validations of personal property
- Management and facilitation support
- Planning, tracking and executing minor projects
- Preparing briefings and spreadsheets
- Preparing for and attending meetings with clients, contractors and others
- Independently creating and maintaining various reports and databases using advanced technical skills
- Organizing and Maintaining files
- Assist in tracking real property and tenants on base
- Coordinating materials and activities associated with meetings and appointments
- Undertaking proactive resolution of client inquiries
- Scheduling appointments and setting up meetings
- Assisting in ad-hoc projects related to client or corporate activities
- Working collaboratively with manager to ensure that seamless back-up support is provided to the client; and Performing other duties as assigned, including administrative and analytical support as requested by Project Manager
Qualifications:
To qualify, the ideal candidate must possess the following skills:
- Ability to provide excellent client service
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Detail oriented: always strive to exceed quality standards
- Highly organized and strong time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload and assure timely and accurate accomplishment of objectives with minimal guidance
- Personal Organization/Self Awareness: ability to perform tasks with minimum direct supervision, but knows when to seek assistance
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
- Takes personal responsibility for quality
- Independently Motivated/Self-directed: must be able to perform assignments independently and demonstrate a pro-active approach
- Flexibility: work environment is subject to constant change, at times, and interruptions
- Ability to type, file, take meeting notes and keep records
- Pursuing Bachelor's Degree
- Prior experience as an administrative assistant in a professional organization is considered beneficial
- Knowledge of construction management, and/or commercial real estate development is a plus, but not necessary
- Strong problem solving abilities
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Resourcefulness when responding to time sensitive situations
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
- Ability to pass a background check and to receive US Government contractor credentials
