Institutional Mission:

To provide motivated young people from the US and abroad with an excellent practical education in environmental studies, in order that they may become more environmentally literate and aware and make immediate and future contributions toward the sustainable management of the world's natural resources.


Job Rationale/Summary:
The purpose of this position is to assist with group dynamics, administrative support and logistics, site management and the academic and research programs.

Locations:
Yungaburra, Australia; British Columbia, Canada; Atenas, Costa Rica; Kenya; Puerto San Carlos, Mexico; Turks & Caicos Islands, B.W.I.

Reports to:

Center Director. Day to day supervision may be delegated to Student Affairs Manager, Faculty, or Site Manager as appropriate.

Stipend:
US$750/semester; US$500/summer; room and board while on site, evacuation insurance

Minimum Qualifications:

*
BA/BS in field related to research/curriculum focus of Center
*
First Aid and CPR certification

* Experience managing or facilitating groups

* Safe driving record

* Relevant language skills

Preferred Qualifications:
*
Successful completion of an SFS or similar international residential program

*Life guard certification

*Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Access and statistical software skills

*In country or regional experience

*EMT or WEMT certification (Kenya)

Other Expectations:

Demonstrated commitment to environmental issues

Willingness to live and work with undergraduate students and participate fully in community life
*
Willingness to work flexible hours
*
Willingness to live on site in field station conditions
*
Ability to work as a team member
*
Ability to drive a standard transmission vehicle and a clean driving record
